C Love Rollerball

Our notes on the fragrance collection from L'amour Mere: these are romantic, nostalgic florals. In this case, romance has many meanings: it's meeting your soulmate, it's the love of your best and closest friends, it's the special bond between mother and child. These scents make us want to go on a first date, they're energizing in an "I'm ready to fall in love" sort of way. They beckon us to call up a girlfriend and catch up over brunch. It's a perfect bottle to slip in your daughter's bag as you drop her off for college or as a secret "good luck" on a new adventure. L'Amour Mere's founder Natasha Gregson Wagner created this collection to honor her mother Natalie Wood and we feel the mix of love, lineage, and classic Hollywood come through the scents. 

"C Love: is inspired by the rose gardens I planted with my stepfather in Southern California—gardens woven through my earliest memories. Those days were filled with the green, grassy, herbaceous scents of the garden, accentuated by roses in full bloom. The rose was always the jewel, set against the fresh green around it, its beauty made brighter by contrast.

Created with master perfumer Claude Dir at MANE, a fourth-generation French fragrance house, C Love centers on Rose de Grasse, a nod to the many summers we spent as a family in the South of France. Rose geranium adds a floral-herbaceous lift, echoing the clean, fresh rose scents I loved as a child—almost with a soft hint of pepper.

To offer a counterpoint, we added wild sage, which complements the rose and brings an airy, aromatic contrast. I wanted the full-bodied floral heart to be grounded in rich, dark earth, so we anchored the fragrance with warm woods, featuring a blond Virginia cedar, blended with amber and a sheer skin musk to carry the scent smoothly from day to night. A touch of heliotrope lends a creamy, soft halo to the entire composition.

Hand-crafted in small batches and blended with Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO).
